Blogger, Myspace, Twitter, Facebook, Classmates - so many ways to get in touch and keep in touch. I've been on Classmates for a few years now and have gotten in touch with a few old friends. Of course, you all know I'm on Blogger (or else you wouldn't be here ;), and yesterday I joined Facebook. 'Cause Kerry asked me if I was on it. You all may know by her alter-ego name: Topsy-Techie. There's only one little problem with this. Other than Kerry - I don't know anybody else on Facebook! That's right - I only have one friend on there. I guess this would be the adult version of being the last kid picked for the game at recess ;)
Most people on there join under their high school or college. I went to a teeny-tiny alternative high school that doesn't even have a listing on Facebook. So I ended up joining under the large public high school that I briefly attended in 10th grade. Although technically I was enrolled for 3 terms, I skipped most of those classes most of the time. Amazingly, I still ended up with enough extra credits by my senior year that I finished 6 months early!
Anyway, my point is that when I went through the people listed at the larger school, I realized that I don't remember most of them! How sad is that?? Nor would I recognize them if I saw them on the street. The really sad part is that I went to grade school and middle school with some of these people, and other than their names and one or two vague stories, I don't really remember them. I only have one friend from high school that I'm still friends with (and she's not on there!)
So what about you? Do you belong to any sites like Classmates, Facebook, or Myspace? Are you still in contact with your old school friends? Have any long lost friends found you?

Classmates is a ripoff! They always want more money!
Myspace has become so trashy that I don't even bother anymore! (Too many hoochy people trying to hook up!)
I made three very good friends during the first 6 months of our family moving to Florida, when I was in the 8th grade. We were 13! I had all three of these people at my house for New Years with their families and thats all I need! I will have to check out Facebook and see if I have many friends there.
Classmates is definitely a money-sucker, isn't it? I subscribed a few years ago, and everything I wanted to do, they seemed to want more money in order for me to do it!!
Be sure and go through the process where you run your email address books through Facebook. When I did that, I found myself quite surprised with some of the people who were on Facebook (my 75 yr. old next-door neighbor, for instance!!)
Every week I seem to get another Facebook convert...last week was my best friend from high school, and this week it was you. I'm thinking pretty soon they're gonna owe me some serious moolah!!
I used to be part of classmates, but they always want more money. I have a myspace that I rarely use because myspace and my connection dont mesh. I have a facebook account and I've found that much easier to deal with than myspace and I have old classmates coming out of the wall daily.
I'm on facebook *waves*...don't really do any of the other sites and only joined facebook due to all the classmates from uni going on about it, now I can't go a few days without checking it...how sad is that...anyhoo look me up if you want...the names Kidd....Emma Kidd and since there's a few of us (a second in my own family even) look for the pic which is of a place called 'Kidd's Bush'....yes really.
Haven't seen the finale yet...it's on sky Tues night so I'll catch up then...last week's was a little wierd...good wierd, but wierd.
Oh and I got my ticket through for P4 today....160, so i'm in the meet and greet....whoop-whoop

I've had Facebook for awhile but just recently began really using it. It's like people watching and is somewhat addicting. Oo, So and so is eating ice cream, whathisbutt got a haircut, and whoseyourmamma broke up with her boyfriend. Saw it all on Facebook. lol.

I keep getting stupid emails from classmates - someone signed your book...someone did this...but they want money for you to see it.
I am on facebook - sort of. I have not found it to be the huge time suck that some people have. Maybe because I can't remember anyone's names. Or I just don't know that many people.
I have used it to check on old boyfriends. That part has been fascinating :-)
My "favorite" part about Classmates are the wonderfully snarky comments and e-mails hubby and I get from his ex-wife. And they want me to pay them money for that?? Don't think so.
I've never been on Myspace, because, again, I hardly know anybody on it. The few people I know on there I have contact with in other areas, so there's really no need.

Any questions you would like an answer too...guests thus far are Kavan Smith, Paul McGilllion, James 'Bam Bam' Bamford (stunt guy), Chuck(nician) Campbell, Chris Heyerdahl and Neil Roberts (who's not so much known for SGA but is coming along anyhoo)...I'll stand up in front of whoever if you have something you're desperate to know.
It's turning into a bit of a Sanctuary con also which is no bad thing, the show's quite popular over here.
There is one person I know from my school days who is on FB - no one from my dating past, apparently. Just as well.

The only question I can think of is whether or not Paul will be back on Sanctuary. I know he was on one or two of the webisodes before it aired on TV, but I haven't seen those (so maybe there was some plot point that prevents his return). I'd love to see him on something again!
I *will* be interested to see if anybody's vids from it on YouTube include you again, as I clearly recall seeing you on there last year!

Yep, I've only found one old flame on there, and there's NO WAY I'd contact him! Still, it was kinda fun to see a recent pix of him (bald as he was ;)
