A Visit With My Dad

I know, I know - where in the hell have I been?? Well, we've been crazy busy the last few weeks. My dad came for his first visit since we moved back to Oregon, which happened to coincide with the dress rehearsals and opening weekend of bubba's play. OK, so technically it's Shakespeare's play since he actually wrote the dang thing, but he's dead and my kid is in it - so now it's bubba's play ;)

And I was going to do up a big ol' blog post last night, but somebody-who-shall-remain-nameless (unless you ask me. Then I'll tell!) spent 3 hours entertaining me by IM last night!

We took advantage of a brief moment of good weather and took my dad to see some sights. Here we are, overlooking the gorge:

Our next stop was Multnomah Falls (yes, we take everyone who comes to visit there!)
We didn't do the mile long trek up to the top, but we did make our way up to the bridge.

Here's the view over the bridge:
And what did we do with my dad when the weather was uncooperative? Bubba showed him the joys of XBox 360. And my dad discovered that he really, really likes killing zombies. Boys are weird. Even when they're 62!

LOL - the 360 just tends to draw the men folk near!
Maybe it's their magnetic personalities!

Glad to see that you and Cody had some nice, quality time with your dad. Does he live very faraway? He must.

Enjoy!

It is so easy to get wrapped up in the IM. I am usally invisible so that I can get things done :-)

How long will your dad be visiting? My girls are all about sharing the joy of the wii.

Kimberly,
My dad recently moved back to his podunk hometown in Missouri after 30+ years in southern California. And my in-laws decided to move to Missouri as well. So guess where we're going next year? (Can't you just *hear* the excitement in my voice?? ;)

Kat,
Unfortunately, my dad is already gone. He was only out here for a couple of days, but at least he (finally!) made it!

Honestly, the nerve of some people using up all your valuable blogging time...next time you should just tell 'em to put a sock in it...unless they have some hot Doctor Who gossip of course ;-)

btw I finally got round to posting your poster thingy...it was buried under my computer course stuff and I completely forgot about it until today....I'm bad I know...but it's now in the post...first class no less!

Glad you had fun with the visiting parental...can't get rid of mine, worse luck, and they spend much time drinking tea and falling asleep in front of the TV while watching Eastenders.....still each to their own i guess

We visited relatives in Oregon last June, and one of our favorite trips was to Multnomah falls!
We also loved Shipwreck beach on the coast. And Porter's books, and OMSI... should I go on?
You are so lucky to live in such an amazing place!
