101 Goals in 1001 Days


Our family's list of 101 goals to be completed in 1001 days:

So here's our 101. I'll be posting updates periodically on the blog to let you know how we're doing, and I'll be crossing things off as we complete them.

 Homestead/Homemaker Goals:
1. Glean at least 5 lbs. of blackberries each year
2. Name our homestead (may sound silly to some, but I really want to do it! :)
3. Re-roof the house
4. Build a new chicken coop
5. Plant at least 3 more fruit trees
6. Switch the flagstone patio area and the garden area to take advantage of all of the sun we now get in that spot due to the tree that was removed.
7. Make the pond smaller (the pond is the bane of our existence!)
8. Mike and Cody to go deer hunting
9. Mike to go salmon fishing
10. Have at least 3 of our chickens processed
11. Brood more chicks
12. Paint the exterior of the house
13. Transplant the raspberries
14. Make nesting boxes for orchard mason bees
15. Finish the hearth
16. Put in a woodstove
17. Take advantage of free/low cost homestead/homemaking classes and workshops - at least 6 per year
18. Go the farmer's market at least 3x a month during the season
19. Buy a pressure canner and can more food
20. Reconfigure the laundry room to include pantry space
21. Clean out and organize every room and closet in the house (if you're gonna dream - dream big! LOL)
22. Buy a china cabinet so that I finally have a place to store it all
23. Make a rag rug
24. Reconfigure the walk-in closet so it's more efficient
25. Can at least 48 jars of jam in 2012, for us and for gifts/bartering
26. Make a family recipe book
27. Buy a sewing machine and learn to sew
28. Make Christmas cards for friends and family
29. Learn to embroider
30. Get all of our meat locally (either buy or raise ouselves)

Homeschooling Goals:
33. Read 25 classic books

35. Make a weekly schedule - and use it!
36. Go on nature walks at least 2x a month, regardless of weather
37. Resume family read-alouds, at least 3 nights a week

41. Go to Missouri to visit my dad/Mike's parents

43. Take dancing lessons with my husband

50. Win the lottery jackpot! (Cody told me I had to put this on our list. LOL)

55. Donate blood at least 3x a year (all of us)
56. Make at least 10 blankets for The Linus Project

58. Donate $5 for each task on this list that we don't complete

65. Try using the cash envelope system to pay for gas, groceries, etc. for at least 3 months
66. Put all coins (including from #65) into change jar and save for all of 2012
67. Use all coins saved for debt reduction
68. Save a 3 month emergency fund
69. Cut monthly expenses (utilities/groceries/etc.) by at least $200/month
70. Switch from a bank to a credit union
