Who we are

Firefly Mom - I spend most of my time running our son to various homeschooling activities (10 years and counting!). The rest of my time is typically spent trying to be a Domestic Goddess, with varying degrees of success. I'm also a sci-fi geek, as my blogging name illustrates.

Mike aka Hubby aka Sasquatch ('cause he's elusive and hard to photograph). He's in charge of the heavy lifting, bringing my big projects to life, and anything involving a power tool. In exchange for all his hard work, I keep him well fed and on the receiving end of regular foot rubs.

Cody aka Locust Boy aka The Spawn. WWII buff, video game addict, and laugh riot. His days are typically spent learning, doing chores, hanging out with friends, and trying to consume every edible thing in the house.

Zoe - our princess dog who hates rain and getting wet. Did I mention we live in Oregon? She's also afraid of the chickens, who like to herd her around the yard.

Buffy, Angel, Drusilla (Dru), Athena, Cleopatra (Cleo), Amelia, and Grace aka "the girls." Our chickens and comic relief.

We all live, learn, and play on a 1/5 acre lot in the 'burbs near Portland, Oregon.
